HOA threatens homeowners after they leave incompetent landscaping company a 1-star online review: '6 people [asked] us to take down the review'

Shouldn't the HOA be defending the residents of the neighborhood in this situation and not the landscaping company?

Once again, folks, another homeowner's association has failed to meet the moment. This time, a couple who had been living in the neighborhood for several years left several complaints throughout their time there about the landscaping company that the HOA used. These landscapers showed zero regard for the neighborhood's residents, particularly when it came to parking in and out of their own homes.

It got to the point where the homeowners who were experiencing this most egregiously realized that the HOA was not going to do anything about it. So, they took matters into their own hands. Now that their experience has been made public, all of a sudden, the HOA is scrambling to control the narrative.

One of the more amusing parts of this story has got to be the fact that the members of this HOA have no legs to stand on. Not only did they actively ignore the resident's complaints for two years and counting, but they also were applying pressure to get the resident to take down a Google review. That's not exactly a violation of the HOA handbook.
In fact, something tells us that the HOA members who showed up at their doorstep knew that they actually didn't have any real leverage here. Instead, they chose to use intimidation to try to get what they want. This leads us to question, as several members of this online community did, why they cared so much about the well-being of this landscaping company, especially when it was aggravating all the homeowners in the area.
Our guess? The owner of the company must be a board member or, at the very least, they must be related to one. It's the only legitimate explanation for the active choice to ignore complaints and then intimidate residents once those complaints were made public.
